Vauxhall Cigarette Case:Branded, corporate gifts are not a new invention. It seems that Vauxhall was an early adopter of this form of marketing with a beautiful cigarette case, pictured right (Photos: J Kent).
Apparently modelled on an E type radiator, they are made of silver plated brass, with a hinged lid, enamel Vauxhall badge and screw cap, opening to a mahogany lined interior. They are 17cm long. A few have sold at auction in recent years, but their original purpose, manufacturer and date remain a mystery. Does anyone know more? DK Mar '21 |
